BELMONT SHORE "STROLL AND SAVOR" - I came, I tasted, I conquered!
"Stroll and Savor" is one of my favorite Long Beach, CA Events! Think about it. Where else can you get away with stuffing your face with over 30 different cuisines, desserts and beverages for several hours without feeling any guilt? Last night I attended Day 1 of the two-day "A Taste of Belmont Shore, Stroll and Savor" events! Tickets are sold in books of 12 for $10. Each participating merchant has a menu of cuisines that you can purchase individually for a certain number of tickets.
I started my "Stroll and Savor" at La Strada where I had a choice of either the Shrimp Scampi, Fettuccine Au Gratin or their Bianca Pizza! Because I had already eaten my favorite Fettuccine Au Gratin only a few nights ago at La Strada with Carla Muss-Jacobs who was visiting from out of town, I decided to go for a generous slice of their famous Bianca Pizza! Savory deliciousness for only 2 tickets! What a great way to kick off my "Stroll!" By the way, I have to say that I loved how Lisa Ramelow (owner of La Strada) was being pulled in all directions but managed to stop, hug and greet many of the "strollers" by first name!
"Seriously, if it were socially acceptable I would've walked around with a bib tied around my neck with a knife and fork in each hand!"
I then tried samples from Yen Sushi (Cajun Spicy Tuna), Frosted Cupcakery (red velvet cupcake heaven), Olives Gourmet Grocer (Italian Sausage Lasagna), Magic Lamp (GREAT friendly staff serving delicious
Lebanese Mediterranean grilled cuisine with names I couldn't pronounce); Panama Joes (taquitos and enchiladas) and of course I saved my last few tickets for Lucilles Smokehouse BBQ (generous portion of BBQ Beef Rib Tips) and washed it all down with their most delicious Strawberry Lemonade! Seriously, if it were socially acceptable I would've walked around with a bib tied around my neck with a knife and fork in each hand! But as much as I wanted to sample the remaining 15 or more great restaurants I still had to choose from, I simply was too full to stroll, baby step or crawl any further.

I highly recommend Belmont Shore's Stroll and Savor event if you haven't already tried it! To see the entire Belmont Stroll and Savor Photo Album, please visit our Long Beach CA Events Facebook page. Be sure to check our Long Beach Calendar daily for new and upcoming events!

WOW Andi, this looks sounds REALLY delicious. And you couldn't tell me about the Frost Cupcakery when I was there?!? Better yet, thanks for that! I'm kinda happy with my new snack de jour -- sunflower seeds!
Hi Andi ~ You're really making me hungry! Sounds delish. Great writeup.
Liz
Funny thing is Carla, you live way in Portland and have tried more of the Stroll and Savor cuisines than some people who live here!
Liz, I will be cutting back the rest of the week to make up for my over-indulgence the past week. I had to jump up and down to get into my "gage jeans" yesterday. No that's not a designer name. These are the jeans that gage where I'm at as far as my weight.
Andi - I certainly know what I would be doing if I were in "Belmomt Shores" this weekend .....
Andi, Carla Muss-Jacoms gave us (me, you and some others) props in her post today so I came to check you out. I didn't recognize you by name in her post, but I have definitely been reading you for a while (even though I don't always comment). She's right in that you bring life to your post.
Wow Kathy, if only you were close enough to make the next Stroll and Savor event next month! Well if you happen to be thousands of miles closer...:).
Charita - thanks so much! I see you got a well deserved feature today! I think I'm going to have to reblog that one! Don't hesitate to comment! I'd love to hear your insights! As for Carla ...what can I say? As I mentioned in my response to her great compliment, she is the one who nudged me to stop being a spectator and get in the blogging game!
Andi - Spectator? Is that what they are calling blog stalkers these days? LOL, Carla is a sweetheart for singling us (me, you Charita) out and I'm honored to be among such great newbie bloggers. And here you are writing yet again another super hyper local blog. Yummmmmm!!
Andi - I want to BE THERE!!! Great localism post showing off the attractions of Long Beach
Cynthia - you know you've been on my radar with your great blogging! THANKS!
Melissa - thank you! There is a LOT that goes on in Long Beach. I honestly can't keep up with everything that is going on. There were 9 events yesterday on the Events Calendar and that's only what I knew about!
I wish I had known about this. Used to spend a lot of time in Belmont Shore. There are some great restaurants in Long Beach. This sounds like a fun event.
Oh this sounds so great! Stroll and Savor would be one of my favorite things to do too. You've really done a great Localism post on this and the links to some of your favorites.
Jane its usually once a year but this year they planned 3 of them. I believe there will be one next month June 23 and 24th! Let me know if you plan on coming south!
Carol - thanks for joining the Long Beach CA Events Facebook group! It may be a great conversation starter and way for you to talk to some of the businesses in your area that are assembled on a certain street. Maybe they'd like to do something similar!
Would you send me a reminder if it happens. I may run down. Or rather, drive.
Ok, I'll let you know Jane! :)
Andi,
Wow, the great things that you guys out west have going on in your locales. I wonder if we could organize something like that here in the northeast.
I say do it William! You would look like a hero! It is one of the bigger Belmont Shore events and is gaining popularity.
There are a LOT of really genius marketing ideas I'm discovering from some of these shop owners. I will have to blog about them because I'm becoming more and more impressed as I talk and socialize with them per Facebook or face-to-face for localism posts.
it's belmont shore....not shores.
belmontshoregirl - lol, there are several stroll and savors throughout the country, "Stroll & Savor" "Stroll to Savor" and "Stroll Savor," so I used the apostrophe s to indicate which one, so it's still correct. But WOW if it bothered you enough to post a comment, I am willing to change it. LOL My question is did you at least enjoy the blog??? LOL
