The secret's out!  LIFE magazine voted Long Beach No. 6 for "Most Underrated Cities in the West!" I've been saying for years how greatly underrated Long Beach CA is!  If I've said it once, I'll say it again where else in one city can you go to the beach, bike ride for miles, walk to a 5-star restaurant, take a romantic gondola ride, see award winning theatre, board a cruise ship, see a lighthouse, shop for an authentic 1920's vintage typewriter, watch a movie screening right on a sandy beach and take a tour that goes from the street to the sea in true Bond fashion among many other things, hm? 

PEOPLE:

Long Beach is highly underrated when it comes to it's residents!  In Long Beach, you have a huge melting pot of all ages, eye colors, political, socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.  Long Beach is a city that not only celebrates it's differences, but embraces them!  There is a very strong sense of community and respect!  I've had friends visit and say, "Everyone seems so happy here." I've often written that when people smile here, it's a genuine smile that actually reaches their eyes!  It's because of this great mix of the eclectic with the traditional, new with the modern, the young and the old that you never know what you may see on any given day!

NEIGHBORHOODS

Long Beach is an underrated city because of its over 50+ neighborhoods with 17 of them declared as Long Beach Historical Neighborhoods such as California Heights and Bluff Heights, just to name a few. The neighborhoods vary in style and personality.  From quiet tree-lined, to posh Downtown, to charming bay or canal, to grand oceanfront living! It's all here!

COMMUNITY EVENTS:

Long Beach is an underrated city because of the many citywide and neighborhood events specifically centered around bringing the residents of Long Beach together.  LONG BEACH CA EVENTS CALENDARis chalk full of events for all ages and interests, really too many to keep up with!   This month alone we have hundreds of Long Beach CA Events scheduled! Long Beach is a very active city indoors and out. Simply existing is not an option!
